Writing Short Stories in groups (PBL F1)
Create your own stories in groups. Stories must be original and have all the elements of a short story. Be creative and prepare power point slides to present your stories. You can use suitable pictures, music or graphics. You could also use movie maker etc to present your stories.

Wanted Posters
Students created 'Wanted Posters" for the characters found in Flipping Fantastic. Most of the posters were very attractive . Students were able to show their knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis and synthesis (HOTS) of the short story through these posters. Have a look at the posters and feel free to comment.
Character Puppets on Flipping Fantastic
This activity is part of PBL for form 1 students. Students had the chance to use their creativity to make puppets of a character of their choice. This activity focused on a few main multiple intelligences ~ visual spatial, bodily kinestetic, verbal linguistic and interpersonal skills. Students also used higher order thinking skills while carrying out this project ~comprehension, analysis, synthesis and application. The final products are shown in the photos below.

These refers to the important ideas or moral ideas about life that will emerge from the story. It is not stated directly all the time. You may have to draw it out of the story and a story can have more than one theme.
What are the Moral Values?
This refers to the good values of mankind and may incorporate lessons to be learnt in everyday life.

SETTING - FLIPPING FANTASTIC
What is the setting for this story?
The story revolves around the home of Tristan and James. The other places mentioned are Peter Hill Primary where the play was staged,Chesterlea Grange which Tristan,James and their mother visited to enrol Tristan and Highfields Secondary School where James will continue with his secondary education.
The twins find their home a relaxing place to pursue their own interests with the love,support and encouragement of their mother.Peter Hill Primary is where the twins had their primary level education. Chesterlea Grange is a fully residential school for special children. It is fully equipped with facilities for the physically challenged to acquire knowledge and survival skills. Here, the students will have a good time playing sports,acting in plays as well as spend their time leisurely in the indoor video and games room.The environment is refreshingly clean, healthy and cheerful to promote the well-being of its residents. Highfields is a normal day school for students to pursue secondary education.
